Introduction
This article outlines the current known issues and limitations of the Windows App. These behaviors are already known to the product team and may be addressed or improved in future releases. Sharing these details helps set the right expectations when rolling out the Windows App to users.
App version:
- Windows App v1.0.178
Limitations
- The Windows App can only store files on the C: drive.
- Maximum supported file path length is somewhat lower compared to other clients.
- Initial synchronization may take longer, especially for accounts with a large amount of data.
- Right-clicking a ZIP file automatically starts downloading it, without additional confirmation.
- File and folder counts, as well as total size, shown in the RushFiles folder Properties in File Explorer may be incorrect.
Known Issues
- General: Downloads cannot be cancelled once started. Users should avoid clicking Cancel or attempting to interrupt the download.
- General: Replacing a locked file overwrites the file instead of retrieving the duplicate version created by the server.
- General: File status indicators in Windows Explorer may not always reflect the actual file state, especially in deeply nested folder structures.
- General: Opening a locally OneDrive-synced folder may automatically start the Windows App if it is not already running.
- General: Notifications are missing for situations involving lack of permissions, full storage, or server connection errors.
- General: ZIP files display folder-specific options in their context menu.
- General: The Windows App user interface may become temporarily unresponsive during logout. The duration depends on the total amount of stored data.
- Edge-case: Storage usage may be recalculated incorrectly when Share or Subshare permissions change, in certain scenarios.
- Edge-case: Files or folders containing non-printing characters in their names may be duplicated, with the non-printing character removed.
- Edge-case: Files that are copied and then moved using the Web App cannot be downloaded from the Windows App.
- Edge-case: Creating and deleting folders in a Subshare using the Web App, while simultaneously uploading files in bulk to the same Subshare, may cause folders created via the Web App to remain visible in the Windows App.
