Android: UI Bug After Camera Permission Change

The RushFiles Android app UI fails to load properly if camera permissions are revoked via device settings after the app is already in use.

Steps to reproduce
  1. Log in to the RushFiles Android app
  2. Go to Settings > Profile
  3. Attempt to update the profile picture using the camera
  4. When prompted, grant permission: “While using the app”
  5. Put the app in the background
  6. Go to Phone Settings > Apps > RushFiles > App Permissions > Camera, and change permission to “Don’t allow”
  7. Return to the RushFiles app and navigate to the Share list or Settings screen

Actual Behavior
  • App content disappears from main screens (e.g., Share list)
  • Only headers are visible
  • Save button layout breaks on some screen sizes
  • Requires a full app restart to recover normal behavior

Expected Behavior
  • The app should continue working as expected even after the permission change, without needing to restart.

Affected Environment
  • Android 15
  • RushFiles Android Client v5.3.0 and v5.3.1

 Current Status
  • Issue confirmed and will be addressed in the upcoming Android v5.4.0 release.

 Work Around
  • Restarting the app will restore functionality. Until the fix is released, we recommend avoiding permission changes while the app is running.
